Drawcadabra — Privacy Policy
Drawcadabra is a drawing and coloring app designed for children. We built it to collect as little information as possible — there are no accounts, no names, no emails, and no tracking for advertising. This page explains exactly what the app stores and why, in plain language.
What we collect, and why
A random device identifier. When the app first starts it creates a random ID (like a4b3b41a0aad) so your drawings and settings can be found again. It is not your name, phone number, or advertising ID, and it cannot identify you outside the app.
Drawings and coloring pages. When a child uses the magic wand, the drawing is sent to our server, transformed by our own image software, and the result is saved to the in-app Art Book. Images stay on our server only so the Art Book works across sessions.
Purchase state. If a parent buys a VIP subscription, Google Play processes the payment. We never see card details — Google only tells us "this subscription is active" so we can unlock the features.
Basic technical logs. If the app crashes it may send a short technical report (what went wrong, no personal content) so we can fix bugs.
The microphone
The app can listen for a moment when a child describes a drawing ("a balloon on a string") or asks for a coloring page. Speech is converted to text on the device by the phone's own speech service. The audio recording itself is never sent to our servers — only the short text, and only after the child confirms. The microphone is used solely at that moment and can always be skipped.
Advertising
Free users may see ads served by Google AdMob. Because Drawcadabra is a children's app, all ads are non-personalized, tagged for child-directed treatment, and restricted to a G ("general audiences") rating. We do not share any personal information with advertisers. VIP subscriptions remove ads entirely.
What we never do
We do not sell or share personal information. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not use third-party analytics. We do not require or ask for names, emails, contacts, location, or photos from the device gallery. Children's drawings are used only to create their magic pictures — never for anything else, including training AI models.
Where data lives and how it's protected
All traffic between the app and our server is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Drawings and account state are stored on servers operated by Obriy Studio and are accessible only to us.
Retention and deletion
Drawings and the device identifier are kept while the app is being used so the Art Book keeps working. Parents can delete everything associated with a device at any time — yourself, at https://drawcadabra.obriy.studio/delete (instant): enter the device ID shown in the app's Settings screen and all data is removed immediately; server backups age out within 14 days. Prefer email? Write to hello@obriy.studio with the device ID and we will delete it within 30 days.
Children's privacy
Drawcadabra is designed for children and we treat all users as children under COPPA and GDPR-K: minimal data, no personalized advertising, no public sharing of content within the app, and parental rights to review or delete data as described above. Parents with any question or concern can contact us at the address below.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will be announced in the app.
